Photographs, not smaller than 120 x 170 cms (5 x 7 inches) will be required with good detail so the animals features and personality can be captured. We are situated in the Southern Uplands/Scottish Borders area and if you happen to live within a resonable distance you can bring your pet to me and I will take the photographs needed.
Tips on taking photographs
Take your pet's picture outside in the open where the light will be to your advantage.
Try to enlist the help of one or better still two people to help you. One to hold the dog in a sitting position and one to attract the dog so he looks in the right direction and looks happy and alert.
Aim to get a three-quarter view of his head this makes a good professional looking pose.
Get down to the level of the animal. This way you will see him eye to eye.
Don't have him look straight at you as he will end up with an over large nose.
Check the colour of his eyes and his fur with the printed photograph. We need to know if the likeness is good.
Check you have good detail in the eye and muzzle area.
Animals look more alert and happy when their ears are pricked up.
For a single unframed portrait prices start at £120 for a 40 x 50 cms
(12 x 16 inches) portrait. For each additional portrait in the same painting add 33% per head.
